AL reaction premeditated: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today termed Awami League reaction over Khaleda Zia’s proposed plan for new election commission as “premeditated” saying the party’s blueprint design was unveiled through it.“The ruling Awami League has no headache to hold a fair election, rather it (AL) wants to hang on to power by arranging a blueprint election,” Fakhrul said while addressing a programme in Dhaka.Claiming that Awami League was ready to reject the proposal, Fakhrul said the language the party has used in its

reaction makes it clear that it was pre-decided.

Blaming the government for hatching a conspiracy to eliminate BNP, Fakhrul said BNP men were being implicated in the cases filed over militant attacks as a part of the conspiracy.

The path to bring back democracy in the country has been shown in the proposal and talks must be held on the basis of the proposal, he said.

“Please sit across the table for discussion and take an acceptable decision,” he urged the ruling party.
